- The majority of funding needs to go to the classrooms. This needs to be measured and monitored by the school boards to make sure it is really happening.
- Classroom sizes need to be kept small. Find other places to make cuts, but do not increase class sizes. A kindergarten ought not to have more than 15 students; first grade ought not to have more than 20 students, third through fifth grades oust not to have more than 25 students; sixth through eighth grades ought not to have more than 30 students; high schools ought not to have more than 35 students.
- Attract, hire, and keep the very best teachers. Performance needs to be based on the growth of the students as determined by standardized tests.
- Provide the classrooms with the best text books, work books, and teaching materials.
- Hold people accountable.
- Maintain high standards. Put the students in the level they are learning, but only switch for math. Do not have leveling grades.
- Have only three kinds of schools; magnet schools, K-8 schools, and high schools.
Love your input. Will listen to requests or ideas for future blogs. Have a safe day. Would love to hear from former students or their great parents. God bless the United States of America.
