Arizona, the Grand Canyon State and Home of the Petrified Forest

I think we were standing on the South Rim. The views are spectacular. It makes you wonder what else is under the ground in other places in the world. It makes you realize that the earth is very old. You can see the Colorado River far below. If you visit Arizona, you must come to the Grand Canyon. I like the fact that there are no advertising signs or commercialism like you see at the Wisconsin Dells. Sometimes it's nice to look at what God made. When Einstein came to America this was one of the first places he was taken to look at before settling at Princeton University.

Jill and Dan brought their dog Malby on our trip. At this time Jill and Dam were students at the University of Arizona. Jill was a public policy major and Dan was a marketing major.

It is a little scary to be so near the edge without a guard rail. They had water for Malby. He was rescued from an animal shelter.

Layers and layers of the earth's history going back millions of years.

Hello. Dan is wearing a Jamaican man's purse.

I like hats.

Hi cutie.

Smile for the camera.

This picture is Malby on a petrified tree. I loved seeing the Petrified Forest. Outside the park there are rock shops where you can take home a souvenir. It's hard to imagine that Arizona, a desert, was once covered with water and dinosaurs once lived here.

This picture was taken in Sabino Canyon in Tucson. I was just visiting Arizona. I lived in Wisconsin at the time.
