The University of Arizona Campus - Tucson, Arizona

The entrance to the U of A off of Park and University streets.

Just a little after the Civil War, the university was founded. A deal was made to move the state capital to Phoenix in exchange for the state funding the university in Tucson. Arizona did not become a state until 1912. The university has an enrollment close to 40,000 students. The state's largest school, ASU, has over 50,000 students. Either school would be a great choice.

A new student enjoys the shade. This first week of school was very hot. The campus has a lot of shady areas. Many  students prefer to study in the Food Court or one of the two large book stores and enjoy the air conditioning. They also like to study with the chatter going on. In high school the lunch room was one of my favorite places to study for the same reasons. The library was not a place I could concentrate.

That tree looks an awful lot like an elephant's leg.

Excellent landscaping. A spread out campus that can accommodate a large student enrollment. It doesn't feel crowded at all.

This school has a lot of blond girls with short shorts. That should not be your reason for going there. The staff I ran into was very nice. I am going to have to look up Mrs. Donnelly. At the tents students are given the chance to join one of the campus fraternities or sororities.

A university is made up of a number of colleges. It offers bachelor degrees, master's degrees, and PhDs. I' ll take one of each.

This becomes a nice play area.

Lots and lots and lots of bikes. But you also see motorcycles, motor scooters, skate boards and pedestrians.

Must be a science building.

The University of Arizona prides itself for its diversity; but maybe not black dogs.
