A Charlie Brown Christmas: A Charlie Brown Christmas Tree

This tree was purchased at a bargain price from Jewel-Osco at 7250 Dempster in Morton Grove, Illinois in 1968. It was on display above a coffin freezer and I bought it from the Osco assistant manager as is. This nice man was the person who told me about vacationing with my family at Arrow Lodge in Watersmeet, Michigan. A friend told me this tree reminds her of the Charlie Brown tree. It doesn't look like much without the decorations. But it is a tree made up of a lot of years of love. I started buying ornaments from the Ben Franklin store in Antioch in 1977. That was where i acquired the mouse on the bell, Charlie Brown and Snoopy. I bought my first Hallmark, an old fashioned reindeer, in a half price summer sidewalk sale in 1978. I'm glad Hallmark started making dated ornaments and ornaments in a series. I have two ornaments from Artesian. I love the homemade ornaments of Jill and Tommy on ash trays. This year my favorite is the Walter Payton ornament. Can you see it on the right side of the tree?
