21st Century Classroom Supplies

INTERMEDIATE MULTIAGE SUPPLY LIST

· An assignment notebook, the ideal ones are hole-punched so they can be kept in a trapper. These can be found at Wal-mart or Office Max when school supplies are on sale.
· One pair of plastic scissors.
· One plastic storage container, for supplies, that will fit in the desk.
· Two rolls of scotch tape.
· Three boxes of facial tissue.
· One box of color pencils.
· No permanent markers.
· A trapper that has a binder, a handle, shoulder strap, an outside net pocket is much better than a backpack. Case It brand has a good organizer. Mead Five Star has a good one where the one side is a 6-pocket expanding file which works well for organizing the workbooks while the other side is a 2 or 3 inch ring for hole-punched papers. Five Star’s item number is #29592.
· Three packs of notebook paper, three hole punched – wide ruled.
· A journal. It could be something simple but they also make some nice, decorative ones. They will be writing daily all year and this will be a nice keepsake.
· Twenty-four number two pencils. Dixon are the best. Some pencils you have to sharpen away half the pencil or more before you get a sharp point. (Dixon Ticonderoga can usually be found at Office Max.)
· A pencil sharpener
· A mechanical pencil (optional)
· No white out.
· One stiff clear plastic or wooden ruler (metric and standard), easy to read numbers and sixteenths.
· Ten manila file folders.
· One clear plastic protractor with easy to read degrees.
· An electronic spelling checker that gives definitions but not games (optional but very helpful for writing and quickly looking up words during reading) Franklin MWD – 1490 model the best. It displays the word and the definition on one screen.
· If your child does not know their math multiplication, facts purchase some flash cards and practice the math facts this summer; make it fun and not a chore.
