Yesterday I had a very cheerful conversation with Mariah's mother. She shared Mariah's academic accomplishments at Coronado and how she was pleased with the teachers and the curriculum. It was motivating and validating to hear about how well prepared Mariah is for middle school. The word "perseverance" came up. I am very proud of all of our former students and the growth I am seeing with most of the students this year.
I also received this nice report from a former student's proud mom.
Jacob got 4.00 GPA, below is the email from BASIS director about him. (Jacob is taking Astronomy, Physics, Mandarin, Chemistry, Algebra II with Geometry, Biology, World History, Economics and English.) There are no stupid classes in his 4.00.
Thank you for what you have done for the kids.

Hello,
I'm writing to congratulate you on Jacob's outstanding academic performance for the First Trimester! BASIS's 8th-grade curriculum is truly challenging, so it is no easy feat to achieve such excellent grades. Consequently, we are very proud of the motivation, diligence, and persistence Jacob has demonstrated. This is the kind of effort and achievement that we hope for when we think of the characteristics that comprise the ideal BASIS student!
We have developed our challenging 8th grade to smoothly transition students to our high-school curriculum, a program that, as you know, has gained international renown for its academic rigor, scholarly substance, and preparation for college success. Based on the performance thus far, Jacob is well on the way to being prepared to succeed at the highest level in our high school and beyond.
Congratulations again to you and Jacob!
Sincerely,
George Rising
Upper School Director
