No edit or journal write today. We continue to have missing assignments for those students who HAVE NOT MADE IT A HABIT of checking their assignment books every day.
Today we wrote about lemons, graded our lit stories, took a reading test, and listened to Mrs. Salazar read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane during Read Aloud.
Many of the All About Me projects were very well written. Some incredible. That's when it feels good to be a teacher; to do something that gives students the chance to show greatness and their uniqueness.
Social Studies and Science
In order to give our students more time to focus on mathematics and less homework, we will only have one science and social studies test per month. On alternate weeks, we will get books from the library and do research on subjects related to science and social studies. The topics will be student choice. Students can produce a summary, diorama, poster, power point, or time line.
