My Little Corner of the World

Things happening today:
- sent out a letter to the teachers to identify who should be part of our math tutoring program
- walking around the school, you see the good teaching going on at Cooper Creek, Mrs. Walker should be very proud.

- spent time in several third grade classrooms observing Accelerated Math; the students get additonal practice until they can prove they have mastered a concept, two weeks later they get review problems of the mastered concepts; the students are tutored on every problem they have incorrect; the program is alligned with the state standards; did not see as many difficult word problems but that might be because I was just observing third grade; the students were ALL engaged in all four classes and they were all working on something different; the teachers were very busy; the program allows you to exceed the standards and teach above grade level; the low 3rd grade students seem to have more math skills than the low 5th grade students, don't know why; no behavior problems were noticed; the students were very businesslike, going about their work, scanning, stapeling, filing, getting more work :):):); Coronado has mastered their objectives by February and they work on getting ready for AIMS testing; the program requires a very good printer and A LOT of paper and ink per day; it could be benificial to have a math club before school starts; teachers bought electric staplers; 3rd does math for 60 minutes per day, 4th does math 75 minutes per day, and fifth does math 60 minutes per day; and mini lessons are done from the Harcourt book which is why 3rd thinks leveling is benificial. It was very encouraging to observe.

  1. It is undoubtedly good effort! However, our present education system does not always provide the challenges that can bring out the best from a student. Every American student has the capability to complete their school and hold postsecondary degrees. They have the expertise and talent; online tutoring services like tutorteddy.com helps to bring that out by providing them all essential helps at the most reasonable cost. There are many students in our country, who can’t continue with their studies due to lack of proper guidance and poor financial background. Some of them offer online math scholarship program to help deserving underprivileged American students learning math at free of cost.
