Mr. F.M. Baker
Lewisburg, Union County, Pa.

Winterset June 26th

Dear Brother,

Have a few minutes time to write before the male(sic) leaves Am well with the exception of the headache started up our store (green's) last week The proffit(sic) on saturedays (sic) sales amounted over 4.00. Thom and I board ourselves. Glad to hear of Lizzie conversion. Am still trying to live a christian(sic) life. Tender my regard to all inquiring friends. Pleas(sic) send me a catalogue. Thom is a good boy does all the cooking and anything I say could not have a better fellow than he is on that account. The reason I did not write to you sooner was doing nothing only reviewing Geom Have more on hands at presant(sic) than card The male(sic) will collect (a guess) soon must stop My love to all

You aff(sic) Brother
G

Do not study to(sic) hard

I did not change any spelling, grammar or punctuation. I do not know the year this letter was sent. Probably between 1861 and 1864. Some words I couldn't read at all. The letter might have been mailed from Winterset, Iowa. He might have been writing to his brother at Bucknell University.
