Mike and Mike's Stone Cold Lead Pipe Locks - Dick Butkus's Rookie Card - Willie Gault's New Toy

This is Dick Butkus's rookie card. He was drafted in the first round in 1965, the same year the Bears drafted Gale Sayers. Gorge Allen was instrumental in taking these two Hall of Fame players. Both will always be special players to Bear fans.

Tommy and I went to a lot of spring mini camps.

Tom and Revie Sory. He got to block for a young Walter Payton.

The Bears brought Sid Gillman in to improve their passing game. He was a genius as coach of the San Diego Charges. Several assistants of his went on to win  20 Superbowls. His assistants include: Chuck Noll, Dick Vermeil, Art Shell, Tom Flores, John Madden, Bill Walsh,  Mike Holmgren and Tony Dungy.

Willie Gault parks his new Porsche in the driveway at Halas Hall.

Mike Ditka and Dennis Gentry take a look at Gault's new toy. Player salaries were more than an average person made back then, but they weren't exorbitant to the point of spending this much money on a car. Now almost all the players are millionaires. Back then they weren't.

Matt Suhey, Walter Payton and a offensive lineman all take a look.

Mike Tomczak and then Gary Fencil have a look.

Otis Wilson looks while Willian Perry says, "Did you see this?"
