Starting this Friday we will have Game Day. On Meet the Teacher Day, this Wednesday, the kids should bring in a game so they don't have to carry it on the bus. Wednesday is a good day to bring home a math book so the kids don't have to carry it in their backpacks.
We use games when we are on Rainy Day schedules and Game Day is a class reward for good behavior in the class, during specials, and when we are in the halls. It is good to have more rewards than consequences - but, it is necessary to have both. Playing games is a good time to work on social skills and get to know the other students. It is a nice time for them to teach each other. I wish we had Game Day when I was in school.
