The most important rule we would like the MAI students to learn and follow is to always keep their homework with their trapper. Keep it with the trapper when it is passed out or assigned; keep it with the trapper at school; keep it with the trapper at home; keep it with the trapper when the homework is being finished; keep it with the trapper when the homework is finished; and keep it with the trapper when a parent is checking it. If we do this we will never have missing, lost, or misplaced work. No children with that awful, sick feeling in the stomach. Much higher self-esteem.
No need to cry. No need to call home to try to be rescued. No comments like "I forgot It. It's on the kitchen counter. Or the famous, my dog ate it." How can the dog eat it if it is kept in the trapper?
No frantic kids digging in their desks; searching their backpacks; or looking in their cubbies or the trash.
