Did you know the word news came from north, east, west, and south? How cool is that?
Did you know the dollar sign came from putting the letters U and S on top of each other? There are reasons things are the way they are.
We had twenty-four hits on our blog. With fifty students in our classes, less than half the parents check the blog each day. On the right side, we have listed when tests take place and assignments are due. We have been handing back graded papers in social studies (the chapter test, work sheets, and study guide), math (two chapter tests), and language arts (vocabulary lessons, grammar lessons, reading tests, reading practice sheets, spelling tests, journal writes, and edit quizzes). Parents should make sure they see these papers and ask how they can help their son or daughter.
What is the best way to stay organized?
1. Keep your planner up-to-date, always have it with you, and check it before you go home, and at home before you pack up for school. Make this a habit.
2. Keep all your things in a trapper. In there should be: your planner, your criteria sheets, your spelling work, your vocabulary books, your grammar books, your script, your reading practice sheets, edit sentences, the novel you are reading, science work, and social studies work.
Today we have shortened language arts and math classes due to MAP testing. That gives us two hours for social studies for the third day in a row. Are you kidding me???
Language arts
The students should know most of their vocabulary flash cards by now. They should have started their All About Me projects.

Explain why you do or do not like to ride on the school bus. (If you don't ride on the bus, explain why it would or would not be preferable to how you currently get to school.)
