Moni and I just checked the temperature in Illinois and it's three degrees. This is the time of year my son Tommy starts planning his Memorial Day fishing trip in Michigan. He has 87 lure cases like the one above. I know, I know, he knows you can only have one lure in the water at a time. Why do you need hundreds of lure? But, sometimes it's about collecting. I've been a collector of various things since I was eight years old. I still buy lures even though I will never fish again. I'm strange!
This is the time of year my dad would have the Burpee seed catalog out to order plants he was going to plant in the spring. In March, I always checked the trees for buds to get a sense of when the leaves and warm weather would come. When the robins showed up it was the first indication of spring and better weather.
